Fressingfield play area - A huge thank you goes out to Heidi, Martin, Katie, Maisy, James Riches who, along with baby Ollie, completed an amazing 103.4 mile sponsored cycle ride in one day. They were raising funds for new play equipment at Fressingfield play area. They cycled the Boudicca Way, to Aylsham and back. (Ollie was travelling in a trailer and James joined him when he got tired!) Heidi said it was challenging and tough but that they loved every minute of it. She is now collecting the sponsorship money promised! If you haven’t sponsored them but would like to please email email@example.com
The meeting scheduled for Wednesday 23 August to consider three planning applications for Fressingfield has been postponed. This is because the highways authority has concerns about the combined effect of these applications.
The postponement will give Suffolk County Council Highways Department time to consider the impact these developments would have on the highway network. A new date for the committee meeting has not yet been set.
On Wednesday 16 August at 09.55, a yellow JCB with teleporter was travelling in the direction from Wingfield along New Street, Fressingfield when it crashed into my builder's car. The car was parked on the road next to the scaffolding outside Rosemullion Cottage. There was a loud impact and then the JCB continued to scrape along the side of his car before driving off in the direction of the road junction and disappearing.
Thus, the driver failed to stop. My two builders couldn't read the registration plate, so the police can offer them no help. One of them gave chase in a second car but didn't know which way the JCB had travelled once it reached the village sign/junction. The builder's car was taken away and he is currently awaiting all the hassle of a claim etc.
I am wondering if anybody in Fressingfield may have seen this particular JCB driving through the village at approx 10.00 and/or could help in any way?
Pat Douglas, the new owner of Rosemullion Cottage.
Andrew Aalders-Dunthorne, the scout group leader, has written a letter explaining the latest developments with the group's proposed new HQ. A copy was posted through the door of everyone in the village. If you missed your copy, here it is.
