Remembering the life of Queen Elizabeth II

People in the parish will find their own ways to offer condolences to the royal family over the death of The Queen. Also, they will find ways to celebrate and remember her wonderful life.

Fressingfield Parish Council and St Peter and St Paul’s Church have made the following arrangements.

 

A Book of Condolences

The church will be open daily from 9am to 4pm with a book available for your comments.

the online book has now closed for new comments but can be viewed. The Physical book will be closed at 5pm on the 20th September, a day after the funeral.

Flowers

Anyone can leave a tribute of flowers outside Sancroft Hall, along the pavement side.

The Flag

The flag on the church tower will be flown at half-mast for the period of mourning.

There will be a flag flown on a temporary pole outside Sancroft Hall.

Formal Letter of Condolences

The Chair of the Parish Council has sent a letter to His Majesty King Charles III expressing sadness at the death of his mother and hope for his long reign as king. A copy will be sent to local newspapers and be put on the parish website.

Church Services

During the period of mourning, services in the three churches will be opportunities for anyone and everyone to give thanks for The Queen’s exceptional life and legacy.

 

These arrangements may help you to pay your respects and to record your feelings about The Queen’s life and death.

Her Majesty’s funeral is to be held at Westminster Abbey on Monday 19th September at 11AM
