Fressingfield Bowls Club was founded over 100 years ago. It is now facing a membership crisis - numbers will be below 18 in September. If we are unable to attract new bowlers and/or encourage the many bowlers living in Fressingfield but are choosing to play at other clubs, the club will fold. Once a bowling green is not maintained, nature rapidly takes over.
The club is financially sound and able to pay for the annual maintenance which takes place each September. After this maintenance, the green requires the input of members.
The future of the club will be discussed at a Special General Meeting, 7.30pm on Tuesday 25 September at the Sports and Social Club to which everyone is invited. If you want to see the club survive, please make every effort to attend. Fressingfield is a village not a town and good villages preserve their heritage. The bowls club is an important part of that heritage.
